5 Exhilarating Cartoons Every 90's Kid Would Relate To

When anyone says, "cartoons," a 90's kid gets lost in the nostalgic memory lane of the cartoons he watched as a kid. Most of the cartoons were launched far before the year 1990 but were also broadcast on televisions in the 90s.

I went to Paris in May 2019. As I entered through the gate of mesmerizing Disneyland, I was literally lost in my childhood memories. The sections named adventure land, frontier land, fantasyland, discovery land, and the main street USA took me to the worlds of Alice in the wonderland, Peter Pan, Snow White, Aladdin, Mickey Mouse, and the Pirates of the Caribbean.

The visit to Disneyland awakened the magical child inside me. The magical child's spell made me write something about the cartoons treasured by the 90s' kids.

1. Scooby-Doo

The Gang of 5 teenagers keeps solving spooky mysteries. They travel by a van called "Mystery Machine." Fredy, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and a Great Dane named "Scooby-Doo" are the five protagonists in this cartoon. The Gang reveals the humans behind the ghosts by unmasking them in the climax.

Fredy is a guy who likes to take the lead. He is courageous. He drives the Mystery Machine to haunted castles to solve mysteries. Daphne is a good-looking blonde. Velma is a studious redhead who keeps searching for clues.

Shaggy is a foodie. He is scared by the name "ghost" but he along with Scooby manages to fool the ghosts. Scooby is the star of the show. He is a food lover like shaggy. He hesitates to confront the scary situations but when the crew feeds him scooby snacks, he gathers courage and guides the group.

The variety in ghostly characters is very interesting in this cartoon. Shaggy's puns make the show humorous. I liked the episode in which the gang visits Adam's family to solve the mystery of missing Wednesday. Also, Adam's Family is one of my all-time favorite cartoons.

2. Flintstones

Flintstones is the cartoon featuring Fred Flinstones. It's a stone-age man's world having stone-made props. Fred, his wife, Wilma, and their daughter, Pebbles, are the residents of Bedrock. They have Barney and Betty, the Rubble's family, as their neighbors. Rubbles have adopted a son named "Bamm - Bamm" who has supernatural strength. He becomes friends with Pebbles.

The story of the world where humans and dinosaurs exist at the same time is amazing to watch. The show features many types of dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures. "Dino" is the pet Dinosaur of the Flintstones family. Fred is engaged in a quarry job which he hates. The dinosaur types named "Diplodocus and Apatosaurus" are the excavators in Flinstones's cartoon.

In this cartoon, a prehistoric elephant showers water through its trunk on the characters. What a bath! The music player is just like the one we had in the vintage days - A Gramophone! But the disc is made up of stone and the bird's beak plays the role of a needle.

Fred and Barney are best friends but they always tease each other. Fred is in the dominating role, always hitting and punching Barney. Both of them like to participate in bowling events.

3. Jetsons

The exact contrast idea to Flintstones is the Jetsons. The leading character is George Jetson. The cars in the Jetsons look like flying saucers, having facilities that are awe-inspiring especially to the 90s' kids.

The people of this world perform their daily rituals effortlessly. For instance, two metallic hands pop out and brush George's teeth. George just needs to open his mouth to brush his teeth. Also, the hands coming out of the ceiling, holding new clothes, dress him up. The robotic hands also comb his hair and perform many other activities.

Jane is the wife, Elroy is the son, and Judy is the daughter of George. The family includes a robot, Rosie, who is their maid. Rosie has made life easy for them. "Astro" is the talking dog who is their pet. George's boss is Cosmo Spacely who is a grumpy man. The cartoon has a tuneful theme song.

4. Tom and Jerry

This evergreen animated series not only fascinates the 90s' kids but people of all ages and religions from the entire globe love it. However, the old episodes of Tom and Jerry were more entertaining than the new ones. It's not just about a cat chasing a mouse. It's about depicting this chase in a hilarious and extravagantly aggressive manner.

Tom never ends the chase. He keeps planning new tricks to smash Jerry. While Jerry always succeeds to fool Tom. He either escapes into his hole or counter-attacks Tom in an even more intense way which seems funny rather than terrifying.

The connotation of this show is not to portray the enmity between the two, (as they have helped each other in threatening scenarios) but to entertain and immerse the audience into the crazy chase.

5. The Looney Tunes Show

I can recall my childhood afternoons when I watched the Looney tunes show on Cartoon Network. Those golden hours make me feel nostalgic. It may be the Silvester and the tweety mysteries, Woody Woodpecker Show, the Bugs Bunny Show, the Road Runner Show, or any other show from Looney Tunes, but this cartoon series never fails to make you laugh.

The characters like the Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, Tasmanian Devil, Silvester, Tweety, the Granny, Yosemite Sam, Roadrunner, Wile E Coyote, and Marvin the Martian are close to the heart of the creative child which resides in me. The show comprises hilarious animations, violent revenge, smart moves, and American culture.

Modern-day animators study the animations of Looney Tunes as it has smooth and exaggerated movements that appeal to the audience, keeping them engaged. Looney Tunes is so vast subject from my memory lane. I can write a novel on it as it has numerous characters. Each character has a unique trait and has gained worldwide popularity.

There are many other cartoons like Ritchie Rich, Popeye the sailor man, Mickey Mouse, Peter Pan, Aladdin, the Mask, the Adam's Family, Bob the Builder, Oswald, Make way for Noddy, and Pingu which are great treats to the child in me.

Even today, my mind sinks in the flood of these classic cartoons' precious memories. The Hanna-Barbera and The Warner Bros had bestowed a feast of entertainment to the childhood of the 90s' kids.
