Yo Dawg, Ya Gotta Treat Your Dog Right

 Hola Peeps. The relation between man and dog is quite "Close-Knitted." Over the years, no single question has been raised on Dog's loyalty. However, some questions have been raised about the man's behavior towards the dogs. Especially the way he treats the stray dogs. 

If you are the one who recently watched some videos of cute puppies and are willing to have a pet puppy or dog, keep scrolling.  This post is for you. Moreover, this post is also for those who have pet dogs but they don't treat 'em well. It's like they want the dogs to guard their filthy mansion but they just own these faithful creatures without treating them fairly. 

You may be curious to know how it's like to adopt/buy a pet dog but before that, you must know how to treat them well. Some points below can be very familiar to you ( and you follow them) if you are a dog lover but some points may make you reconsider the way you are behaving with your pets.

1. Keep 'em away from drugs 

One guy from my hood loves to be viral on the internet. Nothing wrong with that. But he can do anything for it.....anything. Once, he was boozed and he fed the alcohol to his dog. When he sobered up, the idea of feeding alcohol again to his dog and shooting him live struck his mind. The video went viral but the Dog fell prey to his abusing behavior. 

There are many examples of crazy people intoxicating their pets just to have fun. But it's not fun, it is serious shit. There should be a "strict" law against animal abuse especially against feeding them liquor. 

2. Take them out for a walk 

The subheading suggests that it's so basic point to be noted if you have a pet dog or you are a dog lover. However, I mentioned it coz there exist a few so-called free humans who don't take their dog for a walk. They just consider their freedom and completely take the freedom of speechless mammals for granted. Even a dog has feelings and emotions. 

It is said that "Every dog has its day." But if you have a pet dog (or you truly care about animals), you should make it feel like, "Every day is a dog's day." You don't have to sleep with your dog and share your blanket or relax in a Jacuzzi with your dog if you don't want to, (though you can) but you can at least take it out for a walk twice a day. 

Some people prefer kennels for their dogs while some don't. But walking with them is a must. 

3. Don't ignore their sickness 

Treat your pets like you treat your kids. What if your kid seems lethargic? You will immediately dial your family doctor's number and get it checked. Even tiny and trivial distress observed in your child is noted and taken care of. 

Why do we tend to ignore the sickness of animals? Many of us think that a dog's immune system is quite strong. Yes, it is, but you can't simply overlook your dog's pain and think that it won't affect its health. Let the vet assure you of the dog's powerful immune system. 

You must not presume it as you aren't a vet.  To be on the safer side, you must not only take your dog to the vet when it's diseased but also when you can see some symptoms before the sickness gets severe in some cases. Your vet will give the necessary information on identifying such symptoms.  

4. When on long tours leave them with reliable dog experts/lovers 

If you are touring, taking your dogs out with you is fun. You can take your dog to the nearby picnic spot and have fun running, playing a ball, or swimming with it.

 Since childhood, I have always dreamed of traveling with a pet dog looking like scooby-doo in a vehicle that looks exactly like a "mystery machine." Just like the shaggy and scooby would keep eating while sitting inside the space at the back of the front seats, in the same way, I would like to keep eating with my dog. Gluttony! 

Returning to the subject, I would like to say that you must count your dog in for traveling to animal-friendly locations. What if you have to go far away or somewhere near for a business trip or directly abroad?

You can't carry a dog for the round table conference (though you can try it, it will be fun) unless your dog's paws are needed as a signature for a significant contract. 

So, in situations when you can't carry your pet dog with your family, rather than keeping it alone at home, you can seek a reliable person. This person might be in your colony or town who is not only a dog enthusiast but also has great practical experience handling a dog. 

In this way, your pet can be greatly taken care of until you return. This will always be a better option than living your dog alone even though you see to it that he/she gets food and water. 

5. Nourish them like humans, don't enslave them

 

I must mention what I saw recently. As I was looking down from the 2nd floor of my apartment, I saw a boy sitting on a porch of a bungalow. At first, my eyes were wide open as I thought what the fuck this guy is doing.

 It seemed like he was masturbating and the porch isn't considered a very private place especially where I live. But I was wrong. Within a fraction of a second, I realized that the boy was caressing a dog. He was giving massage to the weary leg muscles of this four-legged animal who is a symbol of loyalty. 

This act of tender love touched my heart. That's the real-life story behind my motivation to write this blog. Treating your pet dog like a human will in turn make you a better human. Just like you treat your offspring with the utmost care, you should treat your pet dog with affection and care.

Assholes throw stones at stray dogs, make them drunk, or kick them while riding on the bike. Even with the pet dog, if you are the owner, it doesn't mean that you must enslave it. The dog obeys certain commands but it should not be a victim of your ownership.

6. Be sensitive to their mating urge 

Reproduction is a natural thing just like breathing or eating is. You already know that attraction is a natural phenomenon. Rather it happens more naturally in the wild or when an animal is not confined. But it is our responsibility as the owner of a pet dog to be aware of its mating with a potential partner.

 Dog experts or vets can guide you regarding the mating season of dogs. Though most people are sensitive to their dog's mating urge, there are some negligent shitheads. Contacting anyone across the town whose pet dog (who is of the opposite sex to your dog) needs a mating partner will be a fair deed.

To become further acquainted with the mating knowledge you can study the natural selection of domestic dogs. If you are more curious, you can dig deeper to study the natural selection of wolves and so on.   

7. Raise a voice against the clumsy neighbors  

There's this friend of mine who has a lovely pair of dogs. Can't recall their names as they are not so simple to pronounce for a guy like me whose English sucks. This friend of mine lives in a colony where lives a dog-hating moron. His hatred is not his only fault. He threatened my friend and her parents to get rid of dogs. 

Though the majority of people from the colony agreed that they don't have any problem with her pet dogs, this guy was very determined to get the pair outta the colony's premises. 

His complaint was regarding the barking of the dogs which was very trivial. The pair barked very few times which wasn't a big deal as dogs barks, humans talk, a child cries, life sucks, etc. It's quite natural. Moreover, this pair of dogs didn't bark excessively. 

So getting fed up with his daily act of threatening and insulting her parents, my friend finally launched a complaint against this pea-brain and he stopped his misconduct thereafter. 

From this, we can conclude that whenever anyone mistreats your pets or threatens you about them, you have every right to take strict actions. There is another example where a man's neighbors try to taint his mind against his pet. The man finds a puppy walking helplessly by the side of the road. He brings it to his home. 

His neighbor tries to convince him about the side effects of keeping a pet dog, ranting him about the puppy as an adult will prove to be very annoying for society. It will bite the shoes, pee or poop anywhere, bite the incoming guests, and blah-blah-blah. But the man was determined to keep him. 

He arranged the meeting for society's members and asked them if they have any objections. No one had any objection. After the man gave an eye-opening speech on the welfare of animals, his crazy neighbor also realized his mistake. Just like you stand for your family, you have to stand for your pets against anyone who is unnecessarily creating a fuss.   

Here I wind up this lengthy write-up. Try to listen to what animals want. Learn to decode a dog's barking into human emotions. In this way, the long-lasting friendship between a man and a dog will last long.
