Howdy Folks! Let's talk about something that we are longing to visit. That is none other than escaping into nature. After a prolonged lockdown period, now we can drive towards destinations rich in nature.

The natural environment always sparks the creativity of an artist. Wandering in nature on the outskirts excreted the creative juices out of me and I started writing about the things to learn from nature. Apart from making love, drinking beer, cooking fillets on the grill, and grabbing selfies with a beautiful landscape as background, some things can be the motivating takeaways from your picnic in nature. There is n number of things we can learn from nature as it is said, "Nature is the best teacher."

I observed and learned 5 vital lessons from nature that are worth discussing. One by one I will mention the lesson, & explain how nature follows it and inspires us to follow it.

1. Trees Never Give Up the Art of Giving

A Young Girl Resting Under A Tree

For this subtitle, I have considered two selfless things in nature which are trees and Mother Earth. The good old trees were here way before the humans came into existence. They provided shelter to the creatures of the prehistoric period. They gave shelter to mankind. Tress will give shelter to our future generations too. Tress won't stop this unconditional act of giving. Though the greedy man is chopping em' off for his selfish purposes, trees will still shelter him without any prejudice. (Caution: Only until man chops em' all)

Take the example of Mother Earth. We call it "mother" but do we treat it as our Mother? No! The tree-clad earth with fresh air is replaced with the concrete dress and smoky air. Have a look at your surroundings. This rapid change from green to sooty has transformed the Earth drastically. Despite all these adverse changes, the Earth's gravity never denied holding anyone on its surface. It never stopped anyone from reaping its advantages like farming for instance.

If the Earth declares to give up its art of giving, everyone will either keep floating or fall deep into the earth's core.  (Caution: Though Induced seismicity/ minor Earthquakes can be considered as a sign that earth may not spare anyone if they try to cross the greed line of development by harming nature)

From this, we can learn not to take any aspect of nature for granted. But it can also be a life hack. We can instill the never-giving-up attitude when it comes to serving the needful. The reason behind the success of large businesses across the world is their ability to give the customers with best services and not just make huge amounts of money. Never bother the returns, and keep giving. Nature's laws favor givers.

2. Embrace the Changes like the Moon

Seasonal Changes

Quite often people tend to stay stagnant, holding on to the traumatic incidences from the past. Some folks displaying orthodox behavior find it difficult to let go of the old rituals that don't serve them well. One who has huge courage to adapt to changes is likely to emerge stronger than before.

A renowned naturalist Charles Darwin states, "Struggle for existence and survival of the fittest" So to survive, the first and foremost thing one must do is adapt quickly to any new kind of change. One who doesn't embrace the change is regarded as unfit and will soon perish.

No one can deny the change. Nothing is permanent. Even the Moon shining high above the sky can't stop itself from the changes in its shapes. It is an endless spiral. Likewise, no summer lasts for 365 days. The same goes for all the seasons. The moon and the seasons are trying to convey us to move on, let it go, embrace the change, and live in the present moment.

As nothing stays, we must celebrate this moment wholeheartedly. Just like any other moment this moment too will soon be gone. If it goes let it go and turn your attention to the current moment.

3.  Rise Up like Tulips

Tulip Fields

Last Year, I was fortunate to visit the Netherlands. I went to the largest flower park and saw a widespread field of beautiful tulips. Tulips blossom from March to May. Mid-April is the period when you can find fresh and fully bloomed tulips. So, what does this piece of information that can be easily found on the internet has to do with this blog, especially with the above sub-heading i.e. Rise Up?

Let me explain.

Though the other seasons aren't favorable for tulips to bloom, tulips don't forget to bloom when the time is right. This reveals the rising ability of tulips. At some point in life, things suck, people get broke, depression overwhelms and bad times never seem to end. Sometimes we can change the situation, the other times we just can't. That's when a quote below can help you to rise up -

Grief is like the wind. When it’s blowing hard, you adjust your sails and run before it. If it blows too hard, you stay in the harbor, close the hatches, and don’t take calls. When it’s gentle, you go sailing, have a picnic, take a swim.

- Barbara Lazear Ascher

When things are going great, don't forget to take some time to celebrate. Just go with the flow and keep rising like the tulips or the ever-shining Sun!

4. Disciplined Nature

Food Chain

Is your nature disciplined? Nature's nature is always disciplined since the beginning of time. The laws of nature illustrate its discipline. Consider a food chain in an ecosystem. All the animals, plants, organisms, and other aspects of nature are in a specific harmony to maintain the balance of life. The food chain is never disturbed.

The brightest source of light, the Sun itself is very disciplined. It never fails to rise every morning and set every evening. Even the opposite is true. Scientifically speaking, you can say the Earth is disciplined as it never stops to rotate around itself and revolve around the Sun.

A lion or a tiger ferociously pounds on its prey when it's hungry. But it never causes any harm to a group of deers or zebras in the vicinity when its stomach is filled. I haven't seen any animal, bird, or fish on an eating spree!

But humans must be ill-disciplined beings. They are on an eating spree, break the rules just for fun, excavate the mountains for stones, and so on only to obtain selfish benefits.

Just like nature, we must be disciplined with what we do. No goal can be achieved without proper self-discipline. The very first thing we should find is our purpose. If we are passionate about something, discipline isn't hard to achieve as we are self-motivated.

 5. Life Keeps Flowing

Beautiful View of Flowing River

Basking in the afternoon sun at the beach, I observed the tides. Tides are never stable. The high tides and low tides depict the uncertainty of life. No two days are identical. Not everything is identical between the two twins. Things fall apart. Plans do fail. So what can we do?

The river water keeps flowing. Amidst the obstructions, a river eventually makes its way towards the sea. Despite all the sufferings that life thrusts at you, if you firmly believe in your abilities and keep walking, running, crawling, or flying towards your goal, you are a legend. You have understood the message of river water to keep flowing regardless of hardships.

It's our responsibility to keep doing our deeds. Since we are mortal beings, we aren't endowed with eternal time to cry over spilled milk. Wisdom lies in moving with the flow of life. Immobility is the sign of the dead but you are alive! Pat your back each morning for realizing that you are alive. You are a dynamic creature made to explore new possibilities and take new risks either in favorable conditions or against the odds. Tides may be high or low, just don't lose the bliss! River and Life must keep flowing.

There are lessons that nature teaches us without charging any fees. Some of which aren't taught at schools or colleges but possess values that shape great characters. Keep your eyes wide open and observe nature. Every ingredient, facet, object, aspect, and being of nature is full of meaningful teachings that we must grasp with complete awareness.
